CBT California and Coronavirus (COVID-19)
***UPDATED JULY 13, 2020
For the protection of our clinicians and clients, CBT California will be suspending all in-person sessions until at least January 2021, for as long as face masks are required to be worn in public places.
CBT California is proactively monitoring news and information regarding the spread of a coronavirus that is causing a respiratory illness known as “coronavirus disease 2019” (COVID-19). The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) describes the current risk as low in the United States but says the risk profile will change as more people are exposed. We take all public health threats seriously and have established a team to track federal, state and local resources; respond to new information; monitor our facilities, patients, staff, faculty, students and volunteers; and communicate about this illness and our response.
Thank you for helping us prevent the spread of infection at CBT California
In response to coronavirus (COVID-19), CBT California has adjusted its policy for clients
We are continuing to track the quickly changing situation around the COVID-19 pandemic. On Monday, March 16th, we decided it was in the best interest of our clients, staff, and community to
temporarily suspend in-person services at all three of our clinic locations. Your individual and group therapists have likely contacted you already. We want to ensure thorough communication. If you are not seeing your therapist regularly, please know we are here for you and will continue to be available during this stressful time.
The decision to close our in-person clinics was made to assist with the social distancing recommendations of federal and international health agencies. Our physical offices will remain closed until further notice. However,
we are continuing to offer all services using teletherapy solutions. Specifically, we are currently able to conduct sessions using telephone and secure HIPAA-compliant videoconferencing on the VSee or Zoom platforms. If you haven’t already been contacted regarding teletherapy sessions or groups, please reach out to your individual therapist or group leaders to set up telephone or virtual sessions. Your individual therapist or group leader will have information about the specific programs to use for secure sessions. Please make sure to contact your provider and ensure that the necessary programs are installed and functional prior to your scheduled session time. Ideally, we recommend that you install and test necessary programs on the day before your scheduled session so that we can help you troubleshoot connectivity issues should they arise.
Our intake staff and billing staff will continue to be available to assist you during regular business hours. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the transition to teletherapy services, don’t hesitate to contact your individual therapist or our intake staff at info@cbtcalifornia.com or 1-800-624-1475.
