Dr. Danielle Esses (she/her) earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from the PGSP-Stanford PsyD Consortium and completed her APA-accredited internship at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. Her clinical training spans outpatient, intensive outpatient, inpatient, and psychiatric emergency room settings, offering her a comprehensive perspective on mental illness and treatment.

Dr. Esses has extensive experience providing evidence-based psychotherapies to individuals with trauma histories, and specializes in treating borderline personality disorder, PTSD, and substance use disorders. Additionally, she is passionate about working with first responders, and notably treated individuals who participated in rescue and recovery efforts following 9/11.

Dr. Esses works primarily through a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) framework. She has additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD. Above all, she values understanding the full individual, considering not just diagnostic presentation, but also comorbid medical issues, cultural differences, religious values, and the like. Her therapeutic style values authenticity and humor.
