Rachel Atkins is a licensed clinical social worker at the Harbor-UCLA adult outpatient psychiatry clinic where she provides evidence-based treatments to a diverse client population. She is also a field instructor at the Harbor UCLA Medical Center where she provides clinical supervision to students in training. She received her BA in Social Work and Spanish with a minor in Psychology from the University of Mississippi in 2007 before moving to Los Angeles to teach as a member of the national Teach For America program. She received a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2011 and became a licensed clinical social worker in 2015. She has been intensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Prolonged Exposure.
Rachel has experience with group and individual psychotherapy as well as diagnostic assessment and treatment planning. In her clinical work she takes an integrative and strengths based approach to address each person’s unique needs and she believes in empowering her clients to become their own most impactful healers. Rachel provides individual and group psychotherapy at CBT/DBT California.
