Aly DiRocco, Psy.D.

Postdoctoral Fellow


Dr. Aly DiRocco earned her Psy.D. in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University in Los Angeles, CA. During her graduate career, her research and clinical training focused on dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) for treating suicidal individuals, emotion dysregulation, and bipolar disorder in adults.

Prior to her graduate studies, Dr. DiRocco received her B.A. in psychology and minor in education at the University of California, Berkeley, where she worked as a research assistant in the Cal Mania (CALM) Program investigating reward sensitivity in individuals with bipolar disorder.
Throughout her graduate studies, Alyson has been intensively trained in several modalities serving adults of varying ages with severe mental illness including, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Alyson’s research and clinical interests include the efficacy of dialectical behavior therapy in treating bipolar disorder.

Dr. DiRocco completed her APA-accredited pre-doctoral clinical internship at Penn Medicine Princeton House Behavioral Health. Dr. DiRocco’s clinical work focused on the acute treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder, suicidal behavior, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. She completed two six month rotations in the Men’s Trauma and Women’s DBT Trauma programs.

Dr. DiRocco has an expertise in treating bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, and borderline personality disorder for adults and adolescents. Dr. DiRocco provides individual and group psychotherapy at CBT/DBT California under the supervision of Dr. Jessica Schneider.
