Vanessa Hurwitz, Ph.D. provides Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) at CBT/DBT California’s Long Beach location under the supervision of Dr. Jessica Schneider. Dr. Hurwitz earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fuller Graduate School of Psychology. She completed several years of training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) across community mental health, primary care, medical, and hospital settings. Dr. Hurwitz completed an APA-Accredited Internship at Walla Walla-Spokane VAMC Joint Psychology Internship where she received specialized training in evidence-based treatments for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Borderline Personality Disorder, mood and anxiety disorders. Dr. Hurwitz’s research and clinical interests include understanding the development, course, and treatment of PTSD, complex PTSD and personality disorders. She is also interested in treatment and program development.
