Lacy Olson, Ph.D.
Dr. Lacy Olson is a licensed clinical psychologist at CBT California – Beverly Hills office. She earned her B.A. in psychology from San Diego State University and her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Florida State University. During her graduate school career, she developed a clinical interest in the assessment and treatment of borderline personality disorder using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Dr. Olson is interested in many facets of the psychology field including clinical practice, teaching, and research. She has taught undergraduate psychology courses at Florida State University and plans to continue her teaching career in addition to her clinical practice. Dr. Olson’s graduate research primarily focused on the investigation of the brain activity underlying externalizing disorders such as psychopathy, antisocial personality disorder, addiction, and impulse control disorders. Dr. Olson completed an APA-accredited predoctoral internship at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas, where she engaged in a year-long DBT rotation. She then completed an APA-accredited postdoctoral fellowship at VA San Diego Healthcare System in the PTSD clinic, receiving specialized training in evidence-based treatment for PTSD, military sexual trauma, and combat trauma. Throughout her training career, Dr. Olson has treated adults diagnosed with a variety of mental health disorders including borderline personality disorder, PTSD, depression, insomnia, and anxiety, and she has trained extensively in the administration of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
